I used to be able to turn off any modes before the latest update, but now that’s gone
You can turn it back on in the settings app under AirPods

Where exactly in the settings app? I can’t seem to find it

Thanks for this info. I didn’t know and I’ve replaced my AirPods a few times
It’s in the preferences section
Are you using the ‘off’ mode for battery saving or for something else

I turn it on when I only use one AirPod. My hair brushing against the AirPod in transparency mode drives me crazy

I use it as my default setting. I don’t need outside sounds all the time. Just a good seal and music is enough for me. I click the stem if I want to talk

I switch to it when I have one bud in. Can’t use ANC with one bud, but I want some sound isolation
@Quincy
You can use ANC with one bud in the AirPods Accessibility settings

Yeah! It feels a bit weird though
@Quincy
I switch between buds with ANC all day

I use it when biking or skateboarding, it can be annoying with ANC

I usually go with transparency mode in those situations
@Merritt
I meant when I’m riding my skateboard on my dead-end road where there are hardly any cars. On the road, I use transparency

I don’t get why ANC would be a bad thing in that case. I’m curious
@Merritt
With skateboarding, my wheels can get really loud on the bumpy road. It’s hard to explain, it just works for me

I use it at home in bed. Other modes create white noise when it’s really quiet
