I would love it if it had a 120Hz OLED display
If it had a 120Hz OLED display and an M-series chip, this device would be amazing

But with that, it would probably start at $700

$700 for a mini tablet sounds crazy

I understand your point, but for some of us, it might be worth it if it’s our main device. I could see myself replacing all my paper books for university and much more with it

I guess more like $600 and €799

At that point, if it has OLED and M SoC, it might make sense to have both a mini and a mini pro. Otherwise, the price might not be suitable for that small size

I don’t think any iPad, especially the mini, needs an M-level chip.
Seriously, what’s the purpose for it? If you just want to browse TikTok, YouTube, or eBay, read books and comics (for that last one, I’d prefer a bigger screen)? You’re not using it for real work or rendering tasks. I’ve been using my iPad mini 5 since it was released and never felt the need for more power. I want better battery life, better colors, and higher refresh rates, but I never needed more CPU

Many buy iPads for music, art, and video editing. Those people need the faster processors and more RAM

You really think you can edit videos and do art/music on an iPad mini? The screens are too small; 13 inches is the minimal size for decent productivity. Even then, I’d suggest getting a Mac

I do it on my iPad 8. I frequently use Procreate and various software in conjunction with my desktop. I often have issues with resolution and layers in Procreate. I might end up getting an iPad Pro in the future

Many pilots purchase them for ForeFlight, which is a navigation app for aviation. It can consume a lot of power, but the iPad Pro (and even the Air) can be too large for general aviation (like single-engine Cessnas). So, the Mini is preferred. It runs the app, but more processing and graphics power would definitely help

My 8-year-old OLED TV works just fine. So do my Android phones over 5 years old

This is 2024. Welcome back to the modern age, time traveler
And people check their screen-on times for their OLED devices even though yes, the technology is more durable now.
But it’s still not a matter of if but when burn-in happens. For a productivity device, that’s not ideal.
For casual use? Go for it. I enjoy my PG32UCDM.
