This is actually normal. I noticed the same small gap on my iPhone 16 Pro and even on my older models. When I asked about it at an Apple repair shop, they told me it’s part of the design. It helps with things like fitting parts, thermal expansion, and making repairs easier. They also said it doesn’t affect the waterproofing at all. Not sure why Apple doesn’t talk about this on their site.
@Sage
All of my iPhones have had this gap too. It’s there to make disassembly easier later. I’ve had it on models like the SE and the 13 mini. Even if some dirt gets in there, it’s still sealed and hasn’t caused me any issues.
Maybe you should look into ways to manage your anxiety.

No kidding, it’s like a theme here.
So many posts like this here… Three question marks for something that isn’t even an issue.
This is normal.

Are you sure? Some people are saying I should get it replaced .

I had the same thing on a 13 Pro. Did some research, and a tiny gap like this doesn’t seem to cause problems. Mine lasted for two years, no issues with rain or dust.

If it’s really bothering you, you could take it in. If they fix it for free, why not? But honestly, I wouldn’t worry.

If it’s covered by warranty and bugs you that much, sure, go for a replacement. Otherwise, the glue and seals are in place, so nothing will get in.
This reminds me of the Google Pixel 5 in 2020. They had a similar gap, which they said was for heat dissipation. But if you asked, they’d replace it. Funny enough, the replacements didn’t have that gap.
Maybe talk to your doctor about managing your worries.
Help, my phone is normal!?
Are you talking about the gap near the earpiece speaker?

Not the speaker itself. It’s the gap close to it.

Oh, got it. I didn’t notice that at first. If it’s brand new, I’d be concerned. Maybe check with the store?
@Nova
Yeah, it’s new… I’ll try asking for a replacement.
This is just how the ear speaker is designed. Totally normal!
