Maybe it’s tapping into another dimension.
I had a similar issue with Instagram over-processing my photos. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it.
To everyone: All my photos are taken in 16:9 format. Not all of them get that wavy effect, only when I apply auto-adjustments before posting.

Instagram compresses and changes your images to meet their requirements. There’s a setting to upload higher quality, but it still involves some compression. You can try resizing your image yourself before uploading to reduce these issues.

After you upload, your iPhone’s settings don’t make much difference.
Zoom in on the original. The waves are already there but become more noticeable after posting.

True, the waves are there, but the brightness in the ‘after posting’ version makes them stand out more. iPhones are supposed to handle patterns like this better.

I don’t think the phone is handling it well. It’s disappointing when it’s marketed as doing better.
