There’s really nothing wrong with the tablet itself. It’s just too close in price to the iPad Air, especially if you consider refurbished 4th generations, which makes it hard to justify buying the 10th Gen. Having this iPad doesn’t make you a bad person or anything. It’s just not the best financial choice for a modern design iPad. The way it charges the Apple Pencil is also a bit awkward.
Edit: $350 is a fair price. I’m assuming the iPad 10 is at its original MSRP. At almost $500, it’s not worth it, but $350 is a great deal for those not looking for Apple Pencil functionality.

The 4th Gen doesn’t have the M1 chip, so you miss out on Stage Manager. It was frustrating to have a nearly brand-new iPad not get a major feature in the update.

Might get flak for this, but jailbreaks have shown that Stage Manager can work on any iOS 16 iPad. There’s a method for iOS 16+ with tools like Filza editor when jailbroken, adding it back to the settings for older iPads like the A12. It runs just fine.

Absolutely! I enjoy mine as well! I’m currently on my bed watching random YouTube videos that catch my interest.
That’s exactly what I do! I also do crosswords, coloring, and watch TV. I don’t even have texts or emails from my phone going to it; it’s just for fun.

It’s honestly a fantastic entertainment system for us! I’m also loving the Touch ID; glad it’s back.

Same here! I managed to grab it in yellow.
The yellow looks amazing! It really stands out. I played it safe and went with silver haha.

What amount of storage do you have? I’ve never owned an iPad, but with age, it’s tougher to read on my iPhone. It’s October 2024, and I see 64GB is $299, 256GB is $449. Not sure how much space I’d really need. 64GB seems alright, but I think the 256GB for $150 more is a better deal. I just can’t decide what’s ideal. I remember how frustrating it was when my old iPhones ran out of space and I had to delete things, but I don’t want to overspend either. I’m stuck.

I heard rumors that a new standard version iPad might come out soon, so I suggest waiting a bit. This way, the current 10th generation might drop in price if an 11th gen comes out.

Thanks a lot! I’ll hang tight.
I don’t want to invest in something that’s only good for a year if they decide to stop offering updates or new apps. I’m aware my old iPod is now just a paperweight even though it still works terrific.

I wish I could have one, I’m under 16, so I don’t have a bank account to buy anything. My parents won’t get me one either, so I’m stuck using a Samsung S3 to write.

But couldn’t you have done that with the Air? What a weird choice you made! I can’t believe you chose the lesser option that doesn’t give you much for the price! Didn’t you do your research?

It’s a decent tablet, just not a good value.
I somewhat agree. The original price does make it seem like a poor value. As mentioned earlier, it’s almost the same price as the Air, but finding it on sale like I did for $350 makes it a solid deal.
