I’m using an Air 5 and holding off on upgrading because I’m worried about bugs and glitches Is there anything I should be concerned about or should I stick with 16 Also how is the battery life
1 The custom screen sometimes won’t let you customize it You press on it to change things and nothing happens
2 The Globe key on the Magic Keyboard doesn’t switch languages It sometimes only shows emojis This one really bugs me
Overall, the second one is the most frustrating for me
@Meech
Yeah I’m encountering the first bug It looks like you can set them up but won’t let you change them afterward

I managed to change it after a few hours Not sure why

Glad I’m not alone on this One restart allowed me to customize once but it hasn’t worked again since

Quick update Today’s 17.0.1 seems to have fixed this issue
My iPad Air 4th gen has many issues Apple Music App Store iMessage and FaceTime are all not working
I have one bug where the Hearing and Background Sounds in Control Centre completely freeze my iPad (I have an iPad Pro 11" (2018)) I’m not sure if it’s just my device or if everyone is having this issue I also can’t get back-to-back Siri to work even though it should be supported
I’m in the same situation I waited over six months for iOS 16 to be fixed I don’t trust Apple with these updates
Most features aren’t even available outside of the US Why release this stuff if it’s not ready
1 Dock icons disappearing and going gray when using an external monitor with Stage Manager
2 Crashes when using shift+click to open apps with Stage Manager

Same here on the iPad Mini 6 after upgrading to iOS 17
Safari is a mess It gets unresponsive after a few scrolls on any website Facebook is particularly bad on Safari now It’s almost unusable The landscape to portrait bugs are still present These are obvious problems like who was beta testing this It feels like nobody did I’m really not impressed to the point I’m thinking of returning to Android This is a total mess Don’t even bother using a mouse or keyboard with the iPad They disconnect constantly now much worse than before total chaos Don’t download iOS 17 Just wait for bug fixes If you even still want iOS after trying it
It got worse with the bugs I installed this disaster two days ago and it’s a total mess I’m done with iOS This is it for me back to Android

I’m also disappointed I got the new M4 iPad as an upgrade for my old one and lost three years of data and now I have weird keyboard bugs
I’ve been testing iPadOS 17 on an M1 iPad It’s actually more stable and has better battery life than iPadOS 16 but that might be because iPadOS 16 was rushed and had so many bugs iPadOS 17 fixed most of my issues
The only bug I’ve found is text reappearing in the search bar in Safari but it’s not a dealbreaker
@Luca
I’m on iPadOS 16.6.1 and the Safari bug is also there It seems that 17 doesn’t fix it
