Same here, I ordered an Apple case. I plan to check in a few months after some third-party cases are reviewed.
I want Magsafe, camera control, and a nice navy color. Right now, only Apple has that option. I hope the silicone will hold up well.
For my iPhone 12, the silicone case was fine. I got a black one, but it cracked pretty easily when I dropped my phone several times; it might have lasted around 10 drops before it started breaking.
Spigen Tough Armour is a solid choice if you want protection without too much bulk. The T model has a cover that works with the capture button. The Spigen Ultra Hybrid T also has this feature. If those don’t suit you, I’d consider the Apple case until we see more options for the capture button.

I’m curious why some care so much about the capacitive cover. Wouldn’t a cutout be better? Not a full cutout, like the Otterbox Defender for the 16 Pro Max, just for the button area.

I dislike big cutouts; they look awful and I don’t want that for my cases.

What does a capacitive cover mean? I see the regular Tough Armour has a cutout. I’m not really clear on what the T model offers. Can you still use the button with the cover?
The capture button is protected by capacitive material, allowing your finger touches to still pass through to the button for zooming in and similar features.
Consider ordering a Mous case. My boyfriend has had his iPhone XR Pro Max for 5 or 6 years with a Mous case, and it’s held up well. He plans to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro Max soon. I have an iPhone 14 Pro and my case is from Burga.

I’m a fan of Mous too. I’m looking for a case for my daughter, but they don’t match her style.

I’ve been using Mous for my XS since it launched. I’ll likely get one for my 16 PM as soon as they release a case that covers the whole phone, not just the camera button.

The cutout for the button looks bad; what case will you choose instead?

I really like Torras cases. I see they have some available for the Pro model on Amazon.
I think the design is nice, but I wish it had a cover for the button instead of a cutout. Maybe they’ll update it.
I have the Torras for the 14 Pro, and I dislike the button covers. After a few months, they stick and make a terrible sound, like there’s something stuck underneath even when I clean it thoroughly. Plus, I’m confused because it looks like their cases for the 16 do have button covers?

Right; I’m specifically referring to the new control button for the camera.

This is my first time pre-ordering a phone, and I want to have a case ready as soon as it arrives. I know that companies get the dimensions in advance, so cases are available right away. But how can I tell which cases are good if no one has tried them yet? Are there any brands that people trust to make cases for the new model? I really want to make sure I have a case right away after I get the phone.
I get an Apple silicone case every year. They work well and protect the phone nicely. How do I know? My daughter put her phone on top of the car while loading stuff, drove off, and lost it. She saw it wasn’t connected to her watch and found it a mile back on the freeway. They pulled over and got the phone back. The case was a bit damaged, but the phone survived. Our family sticks to Apple silicone cases now; I already have one for my new 16 Pro Max.

I’m looking for a thin, transparent back case for the 16 Pro Max. If the bumper is black, that’s fine, but I want the back to be clear and overall thin. Any suggestions?
