Hey everyone, I’m currently using an old iPhone 11 that’s having issues like random shutdowns, lagging, and a battery that only lasts about 3 hours. I’m not planning to pay €99 for a new battery on a nearly 5-year-old phone, so I’m thinking about upgrading.
I’m stuck between the iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB) and the iPhone 16 Pro (128GB). The prices are pretty close: €1100 for a new 15 Pro Max and €1000 for a week-old 16 Pro from my cousin. Not sure which one is the better choice.
Here’s what I’m thinking about:
• 15 Pro Max Pros:
• Bigger screen, I want to try the Pro Max model.
• 256GB of storage, since I keep a lot of photos, videos, and apps.
• Battery life seems about the same as the 16 Pro.
• 15 Pro Max Cons:
• Might feel too big to use comfortably, I’m used to my iPhone 11 size.
• Slightly larger bezels.
• I’ve heard of some overheating problems.
• 16 Pro Pros:
• Newer model, with thinner bezels and better performance (from what I’ve read).
• Battery is similar to the 15 Pro Max.
• 16 Pro Cons:
• Only 128GB of storage, which might be too little.
• Smaller screen, I’m not sure if it’s me, but the 16 Pro seems the same height as the 11, but the 11 is wider. (The bezels on the 11 are huge though.)
So, should I go for the larger screen and extra storage with the 15 Pro Max, or get the newer 16 Pro? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I had the same choice and went with the 15 Pro Max. You’ll be glad you got the extra storage, and the battery life is a lot better. The bezels might not bother you, and you’ll get used to the phone size (in my opinion). Performance-wise, they’re pretty much the same.
I’ve had the 15 Pro Max and the battery life has been disappointing. It’s worse than the 13 Pro Max. I get maybe 4 hours of screen-on time and by 5 PM it’s usually around 40%. I mainly use it for social media and watching TV during lunch breaks, but it barely lasts from morning to night.
I’ve had Pro models and upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max. It was definitely the right move. The 15 Pro Max isn’t as heavy as others and doesn’t feel that big. The bigger display is awesome, and the battery is great. It does overheat a little, but I always charge it without a case and avoid using it while charging. If you don’t mind the camera button, go for the 15 Pro Max.
I upgraded from the 11 Pro to the 15 Pro Max last spring and I’m really happy with it. The size took a bit of getting used to, especially since I have small hands, but the extra screen space is totally worth it. I haven’t had any overheating issues, except for a few poorly optimized websites, like rockauto.
