Stuck in a loop... Face ID doesn’t work and I need Face ID to fix Face ID?

So my Face ID just stopped working and now I’m stuck because I literally need Face ID to reset it… anyone dealt with this before?

Try doing an iCloud backup, then put your phone in recovery mode and erase it. After that, just restore from the backup. You’ll need your Apple password though.

Thanks, I’ll give this a shot later.

Maybe your face broke? lol

Nah, just get surgery to look more like the original owner of the phone.

Guess I’ll work on that, haha.

I also tried wiping the camera area, hoping it’d help.

Just so you know, Face ID doesn’t actually use the camera.

But isn’t the Face ID sensor right next to the camera?

@Quincy
Yeah, they’re close, but it still doesn’t use the camera, lol.

Either way, I cleaned the whole area so I probably got the infrared sensor too.

People are just giving you a hard time… everyone knew what you meant.

Are you trying to turn off SDP? Usually, if I fail Face ID twice, it just asks for the passcode.

You mean that familiar locations setting? If that’s off, I guess it makes sense.

Are you asking how to turn off SDP?

For me, it doesn’t give the passcode option at all.

Fixed it… I just had to restart the phone.

Dude, why didn’t you try that first? Posting about it before rebooting is a move.

Honestly, I didn’t even think of it… feel kinda dumb now.

@Quincy
Don’t stress it… sometimes we overthink stuff. If you hadn’t posted, who knows what you might have done to that phone, lol.
