Should I go for iPhone 15 Pro or wait for iPhone 16?

I’m planning to upgrade soon and can’t decide between the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16. The prices are almost the same where I live. I’ve looked through different articles and forum posts, but I’m still confused. What do you all think is better for someone who uses their phone for regular stuff?

I got the 15 Pro about two weeks ago, upgraded from the regular iPhone 13. The 15 Pro is solid, though it had some battery and heat issues during the first week, but now it’s running great. I know the 16 is coming out, but I didn’t think I needed all the AI stuff and didn’t want to deal with any new problems that might pop up. I’m sure the 16 Pro will be awesome, but probably only a little better than the 15 Pro. The 15 Pro feels amazing in the hand, so light and comfortable compared to my 13. I’d say the 15 Pro is a great choice, but if you really want, you could try it for a week and return it if you feel like you’re missing out on the 16.

Totally agree. People seem afraid of returning products even though it’s totally allowed. I’ve done it plenty of times, not just with Apple but with other brands too. Sometimes you need to try it yourself because videos or posts don’t always give you the full experience.

Exactly, and for the money you’re spending, it’s worth making sure you get what you really want, even if you have to pay a small restocking fee.

How did the battery fix itself?

I read that the phone does some behind-the-scenes stuff like indexing your data during the first week. Plus, the battery is getting used to how you use the phone, so after about 10 days, things settle down.

The biggest difference I see is the 15 Pro has the 120Hz display while the iPhone 16 has a new camera button. Which feature matters more to you?

Definitely the screen for me.

Which screen is easier on the eyes, 60Hz or 120Hz?

You won’t notice the difference unless you’ve used a 120Hz screen before. I have a MacBook Pro with a 120Hz display, and I could tell right away when I used my friend’s iPhone 15 with a 60Hz screen. But if you’ve never had 120Hz, you probably won’t notice the difference.

How long will stores keep selling the 15 Pro? And when’s the best time to find deals, right after the 16 launches?

They’ll still sell it for a while. You can still buy the iPhone 13, so it should be available. But as for deals, it feels random to me.

Pro models usually stop production after the new ones come out. The base models stay for about three more years. So the 15 Pro should be available from carriers for around 6 more months and maybe longer through retailers.

Are you talking about the regular iPhone 16? I’m trying to decide the same thing right now. But where are you finding the 15 Pro for $800? I’m seeing it for at least $900.

Where I live, resellers have it a lot cheaper than Apple’s official price. Some stores have it on sale, so the price difference is only around $30. And yeah, I’m just as confused. The 16 is the newest, but the 15 Pro is still a pro model. Tough decision, haha.

I have the 15 Pro Max, but I’m planning to get the iPhone 16 because of the new camera button and color options. It’s lighter, and I hope it won’t get as hot while charging. I don’t care much about the 120Hz display.

Same, but I want it in pink!

Won’t you miss the bigger screen though? That’s what’s holding me back.

I do like the bigger size, but it doesn’t always fit in my pockets. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. I don’t like carrying bags, so I’ll switch back to the smaller size unless the Pro Max adds something like 5x zoom.

I’m in a similar spot. I could get a used iPhone 15 Pro or buy a new regular iPhone 16. Not sure what to do.
