Should I be worried about my iPhone battery?

My battery dropped today. How often do you use and charge your phone?

I charge every night, either with MagSafe or wired. Recently, I’ve been limiting it to 90%, but otherwise, I charge it to 100% with Optimized Battery Charging.

No need to worry. Apple’s batteries aren’t really durable.

This is normal as per Apple. Batteries for iPhone 14 models and earlier are designed to retain 80% capacity after 500 complete charge cycles, and for the 15/16 models, it’s 1000 cycles.

@Rin
How often you charge and at what wattage influences a lithium battery’s capacity. I’ve seen this myself. My iPhones always kept 100% capacity because I used the 5W charger. After switching to a 15W MagSafe charger, my capacity dropped to 87%.

Batteries work as designed. Apple states that iPhone 14 models retain 80% of their original capacity at 500 cycles, and the 15 models do so at 1000 cycles. If your battery is draining faster, make sure you have the latest updates and try a force restart:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.

Yes, it’s most likely defective.
