My AirPods Pro are getting replaced, they had issues with noise cancelling and the charging case.
So, I’m using the old wired EarPods again, and to my surprise, they still hold up. For phone calls, they’re perfect. The sound quality is pretty close to my AirPods, too. Anyone else think the same?
Wired EarPods sound better if they fit your ears, and they have a way better mic. That said, wired headphones aren’t for everyone because they lack noise cancelling and can be uncomfortable for some.
The mic’s probably the same. The difference is the cable. Bluetooth messes with microphone quality, always will.

I agree, but if Bluetooth is worse, then it still means the mic performs worse overall.

The mic is so bad I’m thinking of carrying both AirPods Pro and wired EarPods just to switch between them.

I’m not really into sound details. But I’ve got all the versions of EarPods (3.5mm, Lightning, and USB-C) and I think they’re comfortable and sound great. I use them for calls, Zoom meetings, and music while walking. They fit me well, and I like that they let in ambient sound. I also own Sennheiser HD 599 headphones which are good, but my ears get too warm after wearing them all day.

The bass on my 2nd gen AirPods is worse than on my wired EarPods, which is really frustrating.

The sound quality is similar since they use the same speakers, but AirPods are more comfortable for long sessions and stay in my ears better.

They hurt my ears a bit, but I’ve been using them for late-night PS4 gaming. They’re pretty decent for that.

They’ve got strong bass, but they hurt my ears after a while. I feel like they don’t balance the sound well and overpower the mids and highs. I prefer my AirPods for clarity and comfort.
