It makes sense that I use iCloud because my iMessage photographs are stored on the cloud rather than on my phone. It doesn’t include all photographs, though, which is a problem if I want to discover a specific image in a chat and I go ahead and tap on their profile pic to see them. Therefore, I feel it shouldn’t also imply that lower-resolution representations aren’t stored. If it is unable to list out the photographs, it is basically of no use. Is there a way to modify this setting? I don’t care if it uses up a small amount of data because I can’t keep manually scrolling up through the messages to find what I need.
If you’re finding it difficult to locate specific images in your iMessage chats, there are a couple of steps you can take to improve this.
Firstly, try adjusting your iCloud settings for iMessage photos.
You can do this by going into your Settings, tapping on your name at the top, and then selecting iCloud.
Within the Apps Using iCloud section, you should be able to find Messages.
Try toggling the Sync Now option off and on again to refresh the synchronization.
Also, make sure that the Messages in iCloud feature is enabled.
This ensures that all your messages and photos are stored in iCloud and updated across your devices.
You can usually find this option by tapping on Show All and then selecting Messages in iCloud. Make sure the “Use on this iPhone” is turned on.
Keep in mind that these changes might lead to a slight increase in data usage, but since you mentioned that’s not a concern, it should help you easily find images in your chats without the need to manually scroll through your messages.
I hope this helps! If you need further clarification or assistance, feel free to ask.
I had the same problem. Here’s what worked for me: Go to Settings > Messages > Siri & Search, and toggle ‘Show Content in Search’ off and on. Then go back to the thread and check if the photos are visible.
