I have mixed feelings about mobile games. It’d be convenient to use one device for everything, but I’m so accustomed to PC gaming for about 25 years. The mobile experience is lacking in comparison. No long-term compatibility. Little open-source community for developing compatible products. Gamepad support varies wildly. Mobile games often lack resolution settings, so years later, they still look like a blurry mess because they haven’t updated to display better on devices released 6 years ago.
I’m forced to go through the built-in app store where discoverability is poor. These app stores filter by hardware/OS versions while on PC you just try and see if it’ll run, and oftentimes it works. The same can be done on Android with Google Play saying it’s for a newer version, but getting the APK works on your device.
At this point, I’m not buying games from the App Store. The online check for the premium game from Resident Evil solidified my decision. If I buy premium on mobile, it’ll likely have to be from a third-party service that aims to ensure compatibility over time. I’ll probably stick to premium games on mobile in the future when a mobile PC emulator allows Steam to work rather than GoG game installers. So it’s Android unless something changes on the iOS side too.

I’m pretty sure Resident Evil 4 doesn’t work on the 13, and you know that.
That’s just one game that requires a newer device. Many AAA games work fine on a 13. It really depends on the game.
