I just saw a new feature that’s flagging spam texts. It could help a lot of people avoid getting scammed, but I’m not sure who’s behind it. Is it the phone provider or something else?
It might be from your phone provider. I had something like this when I was with T-Mobile.
This is definitely something from Airtel, not an iOS feature.
It’s clearly part of the message, so it’s coming from your provider. I don’t think this is from iOS.
By the way, I downvoted the post.

Thanks for telling us you downvoted it… very helpful .
@Whit
No problem
It would help if you shared what version of iOS you’re using, your carrier, and any relevant services you have.
For instance, I’m on iOS 18.1 RC with U.S. Verizon, and I’ve never seen anything like this. The use of ‘INR’ suggests you’re in India, so it could be related to your carrier or maybe even a government initiative?
@Hart
Yeah, most of the time, these ‘SPAM LIKELY’ alerts are from your carrier.
@Piper
Why the downvotes? This is clearly sarcasm.
What’s up with writing 500k as 5,00,000?

In India, they use a different number system with lakhs and crores.
1 lakh = 100,000
1 crore = 10 million
This has nothing to do with iPhones or iOS.
That’s just an Airtel feature.
That’s cool, but I’d rather just not get these messages at all.
Yeah, it’s something from Airtel.
It’s not an iOS thing, it’s from Airtel.
Of course, it’s a scam, we’re talking about India here.

Wait, are you suggesting all scams come from India?
People fall for scams, not always because they’re foolish. Some are greedy and think they can outsmart the system, seeing others who follow rules as naive.
Scam messages usually have enough red flags, but greed can cloud even educated minds.
