I turned on my Mac and everything on the display is really small for some reason. The display settings are all set to default, so I don’t know why this is happening.
Go to system preferences and set your monitor space to default instead of resolution
@Oak
This is the right answer. OP probably just has the wrong resolution set, which you can see in the picture they uploaded. OP enabled ‘Show all resolutions’ and picked one that’s not Hi-DPI, which is why the scaling is off.
Your display settings are not right. Were you connected to an external display before this happened? Click on the Apple XDR display button and select Built-in Display or something similar instead.

Thank you so much you saved me

The XDR display is correct for this computer. What’s wrong is the resolutions are being shown as a list and ‘default’ is not selected.
Try picking one of the HiDPI settings like 1512x982. Also, don’t select ‘Show all resolutions’ to go back to the default scale picker. You usually don’t need that option on.
Nope this is your life now
It sounds like you may have fixed it, but:
Your preset should be Apple XDR Display (P3-1600 nits). Click on advanced at the bottom of the window and turn off ‘Show resolutions as a list’. Then select default from the simpler list.
This bug happens a lot for me on my MBP M3 after disconnecting from an external 5k monitor with the lid closed. Now I always make sure to disconnect with the lid open. A reboot is the only fix for me, and it can’t be solved through resolution settings. For anyone thinking it’s just a regular resolution issue, check the top menu and you’ll see it goes under the notch in a strange way. When this happens, the apps don’t treat the notch as a ‘blind spot’, and they put menu items under it. It’s really annoying.
Use CMD + to zoom in
CMD - to zoom out
A Mac laptop display looking zoomed out is usually due to the system’s Zoom settings in Accessibility being accidentally changed, where the screen magnification is set too low, making everything look smaller. You can check and adjust these settings in System Settings under Accessibility > Zoom.
From Google
@Raleigh
Is this the AI thing? This is completely wrong. The screen looks zoomed out because OP is using a large scaled resolution. There’s no ‘zooming out’ from accessibility.

Yes I’m new to Mac myself and was just checking things out on this forum and wanted to help. I should have trusted my instincts better. Sorry for the mix-up.
