Milanese loop stain on the back side of the magnet

Hi all

It looks like my original Milanese loop has some sort of stain on the back of the magnet (the darker loop).

The lighter loop in the photo is not original, and it seems like it almost has no stain.

Is this normal due to anodizing or something?

The black coating is wearing off.

The context of this post is extremely lacking.

Just to clarify, I just unboxed the Apple Watch 10 along with this loop. So it’s as new as it can be.

You should mention that.

In this case, it is a manufacturing defect if it’s a genuine band.

Looks like it’s used!

@Clay
Oh no! I thought I just scratched mine. I bought the band to go with my S10, but I’m going to return it. I ended up buying the official titanium one, and the coating is perfect, plus the clasp is great and secure. I just can’t help but feel incredibly stupid spending 200 dollars on a band.

My dumb self ended up buying the $350 link bracelet, so you’re fine. :weary:

May I ask if you can share pictures of your Milanese loop here? Maybe I could possibly make a defect claim at my local Apple Store if I can convince the staff that it’s not an isolated case.

I bought a stainless steel Milanese band from Amazon to replace the one that came with my AW (S10) because I couldn’t justify making my daughter pay more when it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. I like my cheap knockoff, and there are no stains thus far!
