I just got an ESR case for my new M4 iPad Pro 13 inch. I’m really happy with how it looks and I like that I can set the iPad up like on the Magic Keyboard (check out the image). However, the magnets that hold the case together feel a bit weak to me, and I’m not sure I trust them to keep my expensive device secure. Does anyone have suggestions for cases with a similar style but stronger magnets?

The best case is Zugu. They will have a new one for the iPad coming out in mid July.
I like my Zugu case. I wasn’t sure about the look at first, but I ended up really liking it. After about 18 months, though, the glue holding the leatherette to the plastic back is starting to give way. It might be because I live in a warmer place. That’s my only issue, but I might get another one to replace it.

You should reach out to Zugu about that. They really care about their customers, and your case has a lifetime warranty.

I saw on the Zugu website that it has a 2 year limited warranty.

I thought the warranty was longer when I got mine in October 2022. Even if it’s only 2 years now, I’d still contact them. It won’t hurt.

I returned the ESR Rebound case for the ESR Shift. The magnets are much stronger and it offers more viewing angles, but it’s a bit heavier.
I have the ESR Shift case in purple and I really like it.
I really like the OtterBox Statement Series Studio Case. It’s pricey like most popular cases, but it has almost all the features I want. It has a removable folio cover, an adjustable kickstand, and a slide-out holder for the Apple Pencil. It’s also pretty light.

I just got the same case in black. What this picture doesn’t show is the flap for the pencil. The flap is kind of an eyesore. Plus, the plexiglass back makes it heavier. Unfortunately, I didn’t find many options. The one I wanted from Speck is out of stock.

Honestly, I don’t mind the flap. The case doesn’t have a spot for the pencil, so it just sits on top, which makes the magnets weaker. The flap helps make up for that bad design. It would be better if they just had a cutout for the iPad magnets. The back of the case shows fingerprints easily, which is a shame.
