Looking for a cheap iPad that still runs Apple Intelligence… is the M1 Air a good deal?

If you’re trying to get Apple Intelligence but don’t want to spend too much, the M1 iPad Air might be a solid choice. You can get one refurbished starting at $379. Does this seem like a good deal or not worth it?

The work it takes to buy something for Apple Intelligence is probably more than the time Apple Intelligence will ever save you.

Or the work Apple put in to make it.

I haven’t met a single person actually looking for Apple Intelligence.

I was! At least before it came out. Once I got it, I felt completely underwhelmed. Haven’t used it since.

@Cruz
The only good thing about Apple Intelligence is that it forced Apple to upgrade the specs on everything. Otherwise, I wouldn’t care.

@Cruz
You mean… underwhelmed?

That’s not nearly as much of a ‘forum’ word.

I’m so tired of AI being forced into everything.

A lot of people seem desperate for it over here: https://thisforum.com/apple/comments/1j1wx38/conversational_siri_to_arrive_maybe_in_2026_with/

@Zan
To be fair, Siri has been awful for years. If they actually made it work, I get why people would be excited. But waiting until 2026? No wonder people are mad.

@Zan
We won’t see that happen until Apple adds more RAM. AI features on 8GB will always be limited.

Isn’t the lack of Apple Intelligence actually a selling point for the iPad?

You’ll start seeing it everywhere soon if PCC is right.

People just want it because of FOMO, even if they won’t use it much. It’s one of those ‘nice to have but barely use’ things.
