Just got the iPhone 16… did I make a mistake?

I feel like I should have gone for the Pro because of the 120Hz screen… but I wasn’t sure if it was worth spending extra. I’m not made of money, so I thought the regular version was the smarter choice. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great phone. I had an iPhone 11 with a 74% battery capacity, so this is a huge upgrade.

Most of my devices run at 60Hz… MacBook Air M3, Steam Deck, iPad, PS5 (sometimes 120Hz but rare). My gaming PC is the only one where I really notice the difference. The 16 is solid, and 120Hz is nice, but it’s not something you can’t live without.

@Linden
Yeah, that’s true. It’s still a really good phone, and it’s a massive step up from the 11.

60Hz isn’t bad at all. I actually switched from the 16 Pro to the regular 16 because my girlfriend wanted the pink one. The battery life is much better without the 120Hz… I easily get a day and a half on a single charge.

@Scout
You know you can turn the Pro down to 60Hz in settings, right?

Yeah, but I actually like the pink one anyway.

So it’s really just about the colour then?

You say the phone is ‘amazing’ but also that you ‘regret’ buying it… If you keep second-guessing every decision, you’ll never be happy. Either see if you can return it or just enjoy it. Plenty of people wish they had a phone like that. The forum can’t really help with this.

@Rex
I know, I’m just venting.

Why not return it?

I don’t think I can… I already used it, but I’ll check my options.

Did you get it from Apple? They allow returns within 14 days, even if opened.

@Shannon
That return policy isn’t worldwide though… I think it’s mostly a North American thing.

@Shannon
No, I bought it from an electronics store in Finland.

Check their return policy. Don’t they have a 14-day return rule in Finland?

Yeah, but it has to be ‘new and unused’…

@Skyler
I think you’re still allowed to return it within 14 days. The only things usually excluded are hygiene-related products, like earphones (but even those sometimes work). Try talking to a younger employee—they’re usually more flexible about returns. Just go tomorrow and see what they say. Good luck.

You always want what you don’t have. If you had bought the Pro, you might have regretted spending extra money or complained about the battery life. It’s always something.

If you got it from Amazon, they allow returns for 30 days.

It sucks that you feel that way. I got the 16 Pro, and I’m happy with it. Came from a 15 Pro Max, and I have no complaints.
