Here are a few I love, and my absolute favorites are in bold.

Old-school RPGs like Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2, and Planescape Torment

Deck builder dungeon crawlers: Dream Quest and Slay the Spire

Tower defense games like Kingdom Rush series

Turn-based tactical combat games like Darkest Dungeon, Heroes of Steel, Tactics Maiden, Demon’s Rise, Solitairica, and Into the Breach

Civ-like games like Polytopia, Hexonia, and Slay

Board game apps like Splendor, 7 Wonders, Ticket to Ride, Terra Mystica, Agricola, Castles of Burgundy, Pandemic, Lords of Waterdeep, and Terraforming Mars

The SteamWorld series: SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Quest

And a few others: FTL, Stardew Valley, and This War of Mine. All are awesome.

For soccer fans, Football Manager is good too.

Check out Apple Arcade and Netflix games. They’ve got a lot of content. I’d start there.

Hyper Light Drifter, Dead Cells, FTL, Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons, and Manifold Garden (if you have Apple Arcade).
