Just going for a walk and this happened

So I was just walking, minding my own business, and suddenly things took a turn. Anyone else experienced something similar?

Sounds like you might have had a concussion. You forgot to mention falling.

Were you power walking?

I actually fell forward onto hard concrete and got no alert from my watch. I ended up skinned both knees through jeans and the palms of my hands through thin fleece gloves. It hurt so much.

Ouch! Are you feeling okay now?

@Lior
Yeah, I’m fine now, thanks!

Glad to hear it!

Same here! Tripped on a step and hurt myself. I had my hands out but no alert from the watch. Then when I jokingly thumped my husband in the car, the watch thought I had fallen!

I think the watch might activate if it hears you swear loudly. You should try it next time. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve had two of those alerts recently. One while I was cooking and another while I was vacuuming. Seems like the algorithm is messed up.

Maybe the band was too loose, and the watch mistook it for a fall?

I get these alerts about once every two months. Only once has it been due to a fall. One time a door just banged into me and the watch thought I fell! I wonder if some watches are more sensitive than others.

Did you fall from heaven?

I got an alert while I was walking down the stairs with my Yorkie and iPad. My socks were slippery and I ended up slipping. It hurt my head, but luckily I held onto my dog. My iPad didn’t survive though, thank goodness for AppleCare+. :green_apple:

You might want to check your fall detection settings. Go to Settings > Emergency SOS > Fall Detection and see if it’s set to ‘Always on’. It can be too sensitive for younger people, which might be why it triggers too often. Maybe try ‘Only on during workouts’?

Dang…

My friend has an L39 fighter jet. I was climbing into it and told him I was scared. Right then, the watch started saying it detected a fall. I laughed because it was like it knew I was about to fall, but I didn’t. Still, it was pretty terrifying to climb in and even worse getting out!

I had a fall alert while doing laundry this morning. Must be something with the latest update.
