i’m just a teenage girl in high school and i really don’t know much about computers but i’ve been wanting one for a bit.
i plan on using it for school work, streaming (netflix, youtube, and some other sites), and some light gaming (minecraft, roblox, sims 4)
if you suggest other options please keep them on the cheaper side !! i’m using the money i saved from my summer job and i don’t want to spend too much
Walmart has the M1 Macbook Air new for $650.
I remember seeing it for $580 at some point so it might go on sale again.
I recommend trying to get an M1 Air. It lasts longer than a refurbished intel Air and it performs much better.

Check how it runs the games you’re interested in. They might work (I think) but it probably won’t be a great experience.
Make sure you find the right MacBook by the way.

Just to clarify: This MacBook can handle basic tasks, but Minecraft might barely run, and Sims 4 won’t work at all! This isn’t worth 400 dollars.
No way. Look for a used or refurbished 2020 M1 MacBook Air. They should be only a bit more expensive (since you can find them new for $650 at Walmart) and they pack a lot more power, have better battery life, and get more software updates.

I had a good experience buying from back market.

You can find an M1 air for about that price on eBay. Please avoid getting a 2018 or 2019 MacBook Air since they are some of the worst ones Apple has made.

No. You can find the M1 version for just a bit more.
