Rumors are saying the iPhone SE 4 will have the A18 chip, but what do you think? Will it be worth the price?
If it actually gets the A18 chip with 8GB RAM and maybe Dynamic Island (or even without), this might be the best iPhone for most people. I’ll get one for my wife if that’s the case. She doesn’t need all the extra features; she just wants a simple, good phone for photos. A solid single-lens camera is all most people really need. Other lenses are nice, but not essential.
@Avery
It sounds good, but for $500? It’s more likely going to be $599 or even $699.

If it ends up being $699, then the whole idea of the SE is gone.

I don’t think it’ll be that high. $699 is what you’d expect for a top-tier iPhone. SE prices have to stay lower than that.

What if it’s $469?

That price seems reasonable to me. It’s a bit odd but falls in an acceptable range. Anything higher would clash with the other models.

Leaks are saying Apple wants to keep this phone at $499. Going above $599 would make it lose the SE identity.

There’s no way it’ll be $699. That’s the price of the latest base iPhone. $449 or $499 sounds more likely, though $499 is getting a bit close to the main iPhone range.
@Avery
A base iPhone now costs $799, not $699. The last time it was $699 was with the iPhone 11.

Oops, I was off by $100. Still, my point stands. Apple won’t price the SE too close to their newer models.
@Avery
There are also rumours it’ll have Face ID, so it could get more features.
@Avery
Watch as a few people argue that all anyone cares about is the camera. Most users don’t even care about the fancy features—they just want nice photos.

I’ve got the iPhone 16 Pro. I don’t even need all the features. For family pics, I just point and shoot. I think the SE will be great if these rumours turn out true.
Why wouldn’t it get the A18? Every SE so far has had the newest chip. That’s kind of the whole point—getting flagship performance in a more affordable phone.
This wouldn’t even be news if it didn’t have the A18 chip. Every SE has had the latest processor so far.

There was a slight chance they could’ve used the A17 Pro like the iPad Mini, but yeah, A18 was always the most likely choice.
I like the SE because of its smaller size. That’s what makes it my go-to phone.

If the leaks are true, the SE 4 won’t be small anymore. It’s rumoured to use the iPhone 14’s 6.1-inch body.
@Penn
That’s disappointing. I was hoping for something compact.
