Is it worth buying an iPhone 16…

I’ve never owned an iPhone before. I’ve been using a OnePlus 8 since 2021 and now I’m thinking of buying the iPhone 16. Is it worth it?

The iPhone 16 is a solid choice. Ignore the negative chatter—it’s a great phone. Unless you have a 14 Pro, 15 Pro, or even a base 15, it’s definitely worth the upgrade. The AI features and better camera are nice upgrades too.

@Jet
I’m upgrading from a OnePlus 8 from 2020, so it’s a big change for me. Honestly, I don’t mind the 60Hz screen since I keep my OnePlus 8 at 60Hz to save battery.

Yeah, anyone who uses ProMotion usually keeps battery saver on. Not sure how it handles on the Pro Max models though.

I just got mine today. To be honest, I got the S24 FE last month, and I still think it’s better.

I’d say go for it. People complain about the battery, but I’ve found it lasts me from one night to the next. I upgraded from a refurbished iPhone 13, and I’ve been really happy.

Some tips: Set your battery charge limit to 90%, but charge to full only when you need to, like for trips or concerts. Give it a couple of weeks for the battery to adjust to your usage. If you notice quick battery drain, it could be an app running in the background.

The 16 feels like the best base model iPhone so far, with solid camera and display quality. Don’t bother with the 15—it overheats. And the 17 is just going to be a slightly updated version of what we already have.

@Lux
Thanks for the advice. I was already planning to set the charge limit to 90%. If you’ve got any other tips, I’d love to hear them .

I’m asking because I’ve never used an iPhone before. Also, in my country, the price difference between the iPhone 15 and 16 (base models) is about 70–100 euros. If I don’t want to spend too much, which one should I choose?

@Gael
Fair enough. But if you search the forum, you’ll find tons of opinions on this. Most people here love the iPhone, though.

Mods, can we do something about posts like these?

@Hayes
Sorry if it annoyed anyone. I’ve already ordered the iPhone 16.

Wait, the 16 XD is out already? Apple’s rolling out phones like crazy.

@Gael
If you can afford it, go for a Pro model for the 120Hz display.

@Gael
With just a 100-euro difference, I’d choose the 16. But if I were buying, I’d also want the 512GB storage version.

Let me save you from a future complaint. If your battery drains too fast in the first 2–3 weeks, don’t freak out. It’s just learning your habits. Keep the charge limit at 100% for that time, then adjust it to whatever you want.

@Rowan
Oh, that’s good to know. Thanks for the tip—it helps me too.
