iPhone Issues: Call Being Forwarded to Voicemail

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having this annoying problem where my iPhone keeps forwarding calls directly to voicemail. It happens even when I have good signal. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Common Causes and Fixes:

  1. Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode:
  • Check if DND mode is activated. To disable it, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen and tap the crescent moon icon.
  1. Silence Unknown Callers:
  • This setting sends calls from unknown numbers directly to voicemail. To turn it off, go to Settings > Phone and disable “Silence Unknown Callers.”
  1. Call Forwarding:
  • Ensure Call Forwarding is turned off. Navigate to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding and make sure it is disabled.
  1. Carrier Settings Update:
  • Check for any available carrier settings updates by going to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions.
  1. Network Issues:
  • Restart your phone and check if the issue persists. If it does, verify your carrier’s network status in your area.
  1. SIM Card:
  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, try removing and reseating your SIM card.

Additional Tips:

  • Check Blocked Numbers: Go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts to ensure no important numbers are accidentally blocked.
  • Test with Different Numbers: Try calling your phone from different numbers to help identify the issue.
  • Contact Your Carrier: If the problem continues, reach out to your carrier’s customer support for further assistance.

Do you have any spam call blocking software installed? Also, check if ‘Silence Unknown Callers’ is enabled in your phone settings.

If you have Do Not Disturb enabled, calls from your favorites will still come through. Depending on your settings, repeated calls might also get through. The simplest solution is to turn off Do Not Disturb.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m on Spectrum Mobile for cell service, what provider are you using?

Alternatively, try turning off call forwarding. Dial *73 and press send. You should hear some beeps, and then the call will end.
