No, it can hit 32W, but there are signs it can briefly spike to 37W. That speed doesn’t last long though.

Yeah, I’ve seen that too, but the 37W number is pointless. It happens in tiny bursts for a second or two… it’s not actually charging at that speed.

My iPad maxes out at 20W, but when using a higher-wattage charger, it also pulls extra power for the screen and system. Could be the same for iPhones.
I’m using a 35W charger.

It can actually wear it down a lot faster, mostly because of the heat. If your phone is in a warm spot or isn’t well-ventilated, it’s worse.
My 15 Pro battery got wrecked, and that one already had heat issues thanks to the A17 chip.

That shouldn’t happen… iPhones slow down or stop charging if they get too hot. Sounds like you got a bad one.

Yeah, I think so too. I’ve used iPhones for years, and that was my worst experience.
I try to upgrade every 3–4 years, but I ditched the 15 Pro for a 16PM. After just over a year, my 15 Pro’s battery health was already at 86%.

Why stress about it? Just charge however is convenient. If you want to slow charge to save a bit of battery health over years, go for it. Otherwise, just do what works for you.

Battery life usually lasts about two years, sometimes longer for electric vehicles.
Even if you charge at 100W, worst case is you might need a replacement after a year.
Plenty of iPhones still show 80%+ battery health even after four years, but cycle count tells a clearer story.

Where are you getting two years from? Most sources say 3–5 years.
Not saying people shouldn’t charge however they want, just pointing out that battery care does make a difference.
