iPhone 15 Pro leaving me underwhelmed

I have been upgrading iPhones every year since the original 2G, but the 15 Pro is leaving me disappointed.

First, the battery life is poor, 1 am having to charge it mid-day, which never happened with my 14 Pro. Second, some apps, like my Tado thermostat and Ikea Home smart gateway, are slow to connect, despite trying the usual fixes. Lastly, I’m seeing a lot of unintentional blurring in photos, which is unusual for me.

Overall, this has been a letdown compared to my previous iPhones.

I agree with you. Arrived from the 11 Pro with a two-year-old batteries and found that there was not much of a difference in battery life. The pictures have been quite inconsistent, and the phone does not seem to be much faster. I enjoy how the 11 consistently has little post-processing done to it. It appears to be increasing contrast and causing strange camera flipping based on how close a subject is.

Have you tried optimizing battery settings?

I find it quite better than the camera on the regular 13.

A bit better dynamic range, more details, and not that much “watercolor effect” when zoom in. Plus the better portraits.
