How much should I sell my barely used iPad Pro 13 inch for?

I bought an iPad Pro 13 inch M4 three months ago, but I hardly ever use it. I thought it would be good for work, but I end up finishing things faster on my PC. And if I want to watch stuff, I just use my phone in bed.

I know it’s a great device, but it just doesn’t fit my needs. I tried getting a refund from Apple, but I’m way past their 2-week return window. The iPad is too new to trade in for store credit, so they told me to sell it on my own if I want my money back.

I’ve seen all kinds of prices on Facebook Marketplace, but I honestly don’t know what a fair price is. I don’t want to get ripped off, but I also want to be fair to the buyer, especially since the iPad is still basically brand new.

I also have the 13-inch Magic Keyboard, so I spent around $1600 on the whole package. Some friends are interested and have asked how much I want for it, but I have no clue. Any suggestions?

I’m not really used to selling my tech, as you can tell lol. I usually just keep everything, but it feels like a waste having this iPad sitting around after spending so much on it and not using it.

Keep in mind that most people aren’t going to pay anywhere close to Apple’s price for a second-hand iPad. They’re looking for a deal.

Yeah, it’s always weird when people only knock off a tiny bit from the original price. A student discount or sale usually beats that anyway. Plus, buying direct from Apple gets you perks like AppleCare and better customer service.

If it’s in perfect condition, maybe try $1000 and drop it by $50 if no one bites. It’s still used, even if it feels new, so there has to be a price cut.

Come on man, it’s been three months. What did you expect?

@Bran
Haha, yeah I mainly called because the website wouldn’t give me a trade-in price. I figured I’d ask for a refund just in case.

Check the price on Swappa here: iPad Pro 13" (M4) 2024 Prices, Still a Good Buy - Swappa

It might be worth posting there to see what kind of offers you get, especially with the keyboard.

I think it’s a bit safer than eBay too.

Check the asking price in your area on Facebook Marketplace. Mention that it’s still under warranty, and don’t rush just because you want to get rid of it. Friends or family could be the best option since they trust you and can reach you easily. Start high and lower the price over time. If friends lowball you, treat that differently. If all else fails, try online retailers.

Ask for $1300, but expect to get $1000.

Is that for both the iPad and the Magic Keyboard?

Yeah, I think so.

Used Magic Keyboards in my area go for around $100-125. There’s an iPad Pro 13 listed here for $900 with a keyboard case, and it’s been up for over a week.

Depends on where you are.

What’s the storage capacity?

It’s the base model, so 256GB, I think.

You probably need an iPad Mini haha.

Nah, I think I’ll just upgrade to the iPhone Max. I’ve never really been a tablet person.

Sounds like a smart move to me.

I’m telling you, the iPad Mini is perfect for bed. Just news and streams, no social media.

Apple sells certified used products at about 10% off with a one-year warranty. You’ll probably be taking at least a 15-20% hit from what you paid new.
