How do I get my phone to vibrate on silent?

Hey everyone,

I always keep my phone on silent, but I would like it to vibrate when I get a call. Is there a way to set this up? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Joel,
To set your phone to vibrate in silent mode:

For iPhones: Open Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Enable Vibrate on Silent.

For Android:

  1. Use volume buttons to mute.
  2. Adjust settings in Sound & Vibration or Sounds menu to enable vibrate in silent mode.

Ensure settings are adjusted to ensure your phone vibrates in silent mode.

Hi Joel, To enable vibration on silent mode, follow these steps based on your phone’s operating system:

Android:

Quick Access: Use the physical switch on the side of most Android phones to toggle to “Vibrate” mode.

Settings Menu:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Sounds & Vibration (or similar).
  3. Enable options like Vibrate on Ring or Vibrate in Silent Mode. Adjust vibration intensity or patterns if available.

iPhone:

Control Center:

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner (iPhone X and later) or up from the bottom (iPhone 8 Plus and earlier).
  2. Tap the bell icon with diagonal lines to activate silent mode. Ensure vibration is enabled in settings if there’s no vibration indicator.

Settings Menu:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Sounds & Haptics.
  3. Enable the Vibrate on Silent toggle.

Tones and haptics > Settings > Ringtone. It will vibrate in silent mode if it isn’t turned off.

Navigate to Settings. Navigate to the Accessibility page. After swiping down, select Touch. Find Vibration by scrolling down and turning it on (to green).

Your phone isn’t vibrating on silent anymore? No worries, let’s fix that!

  1. Grab your phone and open Settings.
  2. Look for “Accessibility” and tap on it.
  3. Scroll down a bit until you see "Touch. Tap on that too.
  4. Keep scrolling until you find "Vibration. Make sure the switch next to it is turned on (usually green).
  5. Now, head back to the main Settings menu.
  6. Tap on "Sounds & Haptics.
  7. Under Sounds & Haptics, find Haptics.
  8. Finally, make sure the option for “Play in Silent Mode” is selected.

That’s it! With these steps, your phone should vibrate even when it’s in silent mode, so you won’t miss any calls or messages.

In an anroid phone you can use the volume button to achieve that
