Yesterday, I got a notification from my watch, and today I’m feeling sick. Turns out I have a fever, cold, and sore throat.
Yeah, they’re super accurate. One of the best features in the new update. Before this, Apple Health didn’t really make sense of all the sleep data. And if you didn’t know, the vitals are retroactive too, meaning you can check data all the way back to when you first started tracking sleep.
@Marlowe
Wait, you can go that far back? I had no idea!
I see your watch doesn’t show temperature either. Mine never does.

It only takes your temperature right after you wake up. You have to set up a sleep schedule and keep it active. When you wake up and turn off sleep mode (or the alarm), it’ll show the ‘good morning’ screen, and that’s when it measures your temp. Oh, and you need to do this for about a week straight before it figures out your baseline.
@Devon
That’s pretty dumb, especially since it has auto sleep detection.
@Devon
I’ll try that. I’ve been using sleep mode, but this is the first I’ve heard that it only checks temp when I wake up. My sleep mode ends early because I never know exactly when I’ll wake up.

Set the wake-up time later than usual so you can turn it off manually. When the alarm asks if you want to turn it off, make sure you say yes.
@Devon
The problem is my shifts are all over the place. I work at a hospital, so some days I start at 5 AM and others at noon. That’s why the schedule doesn’t help. I’ll just turn it on manually tonight and switch it off after I wake up. Let’s see if that works.

Mine doesn’t work either.

Mine was working fine, but now it just says ‘No Data’ since yesterday.

Funny enough, my watch is only showing temperature data from last night and nothing else.

Same here.
I wasn’t into sleep tracking at all until I saw people posting that their watches warned them before they got sick. Now I’ve been wearing mine to bed every night. So far, still healthy!

Glad you’re staying healthy!
Your resting heart rate can be a good sign too. Mine goes up by 20 bpm whenever I get sick.
It’s impressive, but what can you really do with this info? Some meds only work early on, but how do you know it’s not something else causing it?

I started to feel the fever coming on, so I took medicine right away to stop it from getting worse.
How does it even measure your breathing rate?
