Is it normal? Renewed phone from Amazon.

Yeah, boosted means the battery health was faked. If the real health is 88%, it can show 100%, but after a month, it drops fast.

Mine shows 91% in settings. Should I wait another month or what? I’ve heard about boosted batteries.
@Micah
First, is the phone new or used? How long have you used it? And what was the battery health when you got it?

It’s Amazon’s ‘refurbished’. I’ve used it about 20 days. First slide shows when I got it, and the second slide is from today.
@Micah
That’s normal. Apple says 500 charge cycles = 80% battery health. So at 250 cycles, 90% makes sense.
This isn’t boosted, it’s just normal wear and tear.
@Micah
You can try the 20:80 rule. Don’t charge over 80%, and don’t let it drop below 20%. I have the base iPhone 13, 603 cycles, and 88% battery health after 664 days.

So 8 charge cycles dropping 2% is normal?
@Micah
Yep, Apple says 500 cycles = 80% health, so 250 cycles = 90%. Plus, you don’t know the phone’s history. It could’ve been used heavily before, and the latest iOS update recalibrated the battery.

Thanks for the info. This is the best iPhone I could afford.
@Micah
No worries, just stick to the 20:80 rule, and you’ll be fine even after 600 cycles.

Is the 20:80 rule really that useful?

I’m at 245 cycles and still at 100%. Got my phone last Christmas.

Same thing happened to mine. It shows 98%, but it’s probably closer to 80%. I’ll replace it once the performance drops.
@Shan
That’s annoying. Where did you buy yours?

Got mine from an online store in great condition.

I bought mine on Amazon in ‘excellent’ condition, lol. First one malfunctioned and I had to return it.
@Micah
Yeah, mine’s clean but I’ll need a new battery in about a year. Apple’s gonna charge me a lot for that.
