This phone is a big upgrade from my old S20 FE. Refresh rate isn’t the only thing that matters. The screen quality and software make a huge difference too. The phone sounds better to me as well. Definitely a good choice for anyone thinking about switching phones.
Apple could make the regular model 90hz and call it something like dynamicFlow or flowMotion. Then put a 144hz option (running mostly at 120hz) on the pro model and keep the name proMotion. I think that would work well.
@Zenith
They could add a 240hz version and call it locoMotion.

@Zenith
I’ve heard that 120hz is coming to all iPhones next year.
@Zenith
They don’t need to change much. Just call it liquid motion for non-pro models and have it go down to 10hz for better battery life. Small differences like that are enough for Apple’s marketing.
@Zenith
I could see them calling it liteMotion or something similar.
90hz should be standard for any phone that costs over $1000. The 15 is still a strong device, though, and 60hz was the norm for a long time. The camera is amazing, too. Lots of fun to use.

My gaming monitor is 165hz, and I still don’t miss it on my phone. The battery life makes it worth it.

I had one of the first Android phones with a 90hz display. It would be amazing to see that on iOS. 90hz should be the minimum for iPhones.

The battery life on the base model 15 is just okay. I’ve heard the plus models are much better in that regard.
60hz isn’t as bad as people say. I tried the 15 Pro Max with 120hz for a day and didn’t notice a huge difference, except for the brighter screen.

That’s true, but if you switch back to 60hz after getting used to 120hz, it feels slow.

60hz is hard to use after getting used to 120hz. It feels laggy.
It really is. Even turning on battery saver mode makes the phone feel slow. It’s like playing games on a 144hz monitor and then going back to 60hz—it’s tough to adjust.
I switched from an S21 FE and feel the same. I almost didn’t buy the iPhone because of the 60hz screen, but I don’t regret it at all. It’s so much better than my old Samsung. Plus, I couldn’t use 120hz most of the time anyway because the battery life was so bad. The iPhone is just so smooth.
@Blair
Exactly. Smoothness isn’t just about refresh rate. Charging every couple of days is a game-changer compared to my old phone. I don’t even charge it all the way most of the time.
I just got mine a few days ago, and I’m very happy with it.
That makes sense since they’re in different price ranges.
