Cold air might help, but there’s still a risk of pushing water in deeper. Glad it worked for you, but it’s not always the best idea.

Using a hair dryer is risky. Best to let it dry naturally.

Put the charging port near an air conditioner instead of using a hair dryer. The aircon will dry it out completely.

Don’t use a hair dryer—it can push water further in. Try putting it in rice for 12 hours.

Rice isn’t actually that effective. Just let it air dry, or use a fan.
