Does anyone find that the "back tap" feature is effective?

You can set up specific actions to be performed when you tap the rear of your iPhone twice or three times in iOS (Settings → Accessibility → Touch → rear Tap). Reddit is where I first learned about this, and I thought it was really cool. I designated the triple tap as the torch’s toggle. and discovered over the course of several months that although I can’t get it to work when I want, it occasionally turns on the torch at random. I’ve never been able to properly tap the phone back such that it functions every time. Does anyone here know how to do this and have any success utilizing it?

It generally works well, but occasionally it activates on its own.
