I’m running on the developer betas. My phone is still doing great, though .
87% battery health after a year and a bit feels like a lot.

I was at 97% in June. Then I started using the developer betas, and it dropped to 92%. Later, Apple’s system adjusted it to the upper 80s.
I knew it’d take a hit when I signed up for the betas. What I didn’t expect was my phone still lasting nearly the whole day even after leaving the betas. Honestly, it’s been serving me well!
@Denali
Beta software doesn’t directly damage your battery health. To be fair, you’re at 669 cycles, so 87% is expected. It’s crazy, though—I’ve had my iPhone 13 Pro Max since launch, and I’m only at 750 cycles.
@Terry
While beta software itself doesn’t cause battery wear, the worse performance on betas means more charging, leading to higher cycle counts and eventually faster degradation. It’s like a cycle—more recharging leads to more wear, which leads to more recharging.
@Denver
True, but some people just blame updates when it’s actually the extra charging that’s the issue.

Yeah, it’s rough. My 14 Pro is on its second battery. It’s a year old and already down to 88%. iPhones seem to have faster battery decline since the iPhone 12 for some reason.

He’s at 669 cycles. Battery wear depends a lot on usage. iPhones are generally designed for about 1,000 cycles. If someone games often, they’ll use up cycles quicker than others.
That’s not great. I thought my 93% was bad.

I’ll stop when people stop posting about minor battery health drops.

Fair enough. It’s honestly getting a bit much.
Looks pretty normal to me. I’ve done 250 charges, and I’m at 95%. By the way, there’s a forum just for iPhone 15 Pro users.
Apple hides about 5% of battery health, so your real number is closer to 82%.

I haven’t seen any proof of this. Can you share a source?

Try using coconutBattery on a Mac to check your actual battery health.
@Denali
That doesn’t look like the real app. You’ll need a Mac for coconutBattery.

I’ll try it when I can use my Mac. Thanks.
