I’m not convinced this is good advice. Typically, charge-discharge cycles are tougher on battery health, unless you’re in extreme temperatures. Apple’s system is advanced and will stop charging if it gets too hot. Plus, when you set to 80%, the iPad runs off power instead of charging until it drops 5%. So don’t worry, you can use it while plugged in like I do.
If you’re running heavy apps like games, it’s best to wait until it charges to 80% before starting. This will help avoid heating.

It doesn’t work that way. If there’s high energy demand while plugged in, it uses the outlet instead of the battery. It just charges slower if the demand is too high.
You can use a basic power bank while on the go or working, it will wear the bank down, but your iPad battery stays at 80% since it pulls all power from the bank.
