I’m doing some research for an article and I’d love to hear about your favorite VPN apps for Mac. What do you like about them? Thanks in advance!

Why don’t you like it? I’m curious.

Same! I got mine with 20% off too.

Funny question! Hope the replies aren’t too sarcastic. I’ve used Nord for years on Windows, Android, Mac, and iOS. It’s simple and has a good number of servers. But I won’t renew since they’re adding too many features just to make more money. Feels a bit shady when you’re trusting them with your privacy. I’m considering switching to Proton or Mullvad next.

@Harley
Been using Mullvad for 8 years, and I love it. Highly recommend.

Mullvad VPN. Lots of ways to pay and it just works.

I agree. It’s great, no extra junk, and it works perfectly.

I’d recommend Windscribe.

I’m using Nord, but mostly because it’s popular.

I’ve been using Web_SecureNow’s VPN for a bit, and it’s secure and easy. I use it for streaming and general browsing. No issues so far!

Surfshark is cheap and has lots of countries to choose from. Mullvad is great but doesn’t have as many options.

Just pick whichever one your favorite YouTuber is pushing so you can get a discount.

I use PIA and haven’t had any problems.

Not the typical answer, but I think the best VPN is one you set up yourself. I just don’t trust companies with my privacy. Most of the big VPNs are owned by just a few companies. You can rent a cheap server, set up WireGuard, and have your own VPN in no time. Super easy setup and it works on all devices.

@Tatum
I didn’t see your post before I wrote mine. Some hosting services offer cheaper servers, I found one for €1 a month in Germany.

I use Nord and it covers all my devices, including my AppleTV. I went for a 3-year deal and saved a lot of money.

I use Tailscale with a Mullvad add-on. The integration is smooth and works across all my Apple devices without any issues.

Take a look at this VPN Relationship Map: VPN Relationship Map - It shows which companies own which VPNs. You’d be surprised how much overlap there is.

> This map shows the connections between VPN companies, their corporate owners, and who profits from promoting them. It includes changes in ownership and news updates. Every link we found is here.

I’d only trust Mullvad and Proton. The rest seem sketchy, with fake reviews, tons of ads, and shady business practices. The whole VPN industry can feel like a scam sometimes.

@Skyler
This is fascinating! I had no idea TunnelBear was bought by McAfee. I thought it was still an indie app.
