Been thinking for months about what phone to get. After 5 years with Android, I finally upgraded from my Honor Magic 6 Lite to the iPhone 15 Plus.
Still feeling a bit sick over how much I spent, but I’m happy to be back with Apple.

Hey, Tim Cook here… thanks for your business.

Tim, how about an 80% discount on the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

While you’re here, Tim… maybe lower the iPhone 16e price?
Android is great for people who like customising their phone, but I’ve stuck with Apple for about 8 years now because it just works better with my laptop. Hope you enjoy the new phone once the price shock wears off.
@Jules
Yeah, Apple just feels more solid to me.

That makes sense. Apple controls both the software and hardware, while Android has to run on all sorts of devices. Some people love tweaking things, but that takes effort.
@Jules
People always talk about Android being customisable, but I never really cared. My apps are in folders, same wallpaper, same setup whether it’s iOS or Android. Apple just makes everything smoother.
@Kieran
I tried switching to Samsung because I got a great deal on a new phone. Got an S25 Ultra and honestly, I regret it. The phone feels clunky, and my notifications are always delayed. Emails, messages… everything is late.
Tried asking for help in an Android forum, but people just roasted me instead. No real help, even from Samsung support. I’ll be returning this and going back to Apple. Customisation is cool, but if the phone can’t even give me notifications on time, what’s the point?
@Channing
Yeah, people get really defensive about Samsung and Android. I’ve even been called a liar for saying something negative.
Before I got my iPhone, I went to a phone shop, and they told me they get so many complaints about the latest Samsungs that they stopped stocking them. They only keep display models, and if someone wants one, they have to order it.
Also had notification issues with Samsung before, and their customer service is terrible.
@Kieran
Glad I’m not the only one. Feels like a cult sometimes. At least the Apple crowd is a little more chill about things.

Yeah, funny thing is, some of them still come over here to argue.
@Kieran
I have the S25 Ultra and actually like it, but yeah, if you say anything negative about Android, people lose their minds.
I switched from an iPhone 16 Pro because iOS 18 had a weird glitch where the screen would randomly start flashing like a strobe light. I have epilepsy, so that was obviously a huge problem. Tried everything—resets, fresh installs, even showed Apple support a video of it happening, but they didn’t do anything.
Had no choice but to switch. If it weren’t for that, I’d still be using the iPhone. I like bouncing between Android and iOS every few years. Hopefully, when I come back, things will be better.
@Channing
I have an S25 Ultra and haven’t had those issues. But I also have a Pixel 6a for work, and that one did have delayed notifications.
Turning off battery optimisation for apps like email and messaging helped fix it. If you haven’t tried that yet, it might be worth a shot.
There are a few other fixes in this guide if you’re still having trouble. If none of them work, then yeah, sounds like something is off with your phone.
