Anyone heard about the new iPhone SE and iPads expected next spring?

What are your thoughts on the updates being rumoured? Are they worth the wait?

The M1 iPad is still solid. I think I’ll get another couple of years out of mine.

I’m still on the 2018 iPad Pro. It’s tempting to upgrade, but nothing new really grabs my attention. I’ll probably wait until apps stop working.

@Pax
Is your battery starting to wear out? Storage getting tight? That’s usually why I upgrade my devices.

Yeah, my mum had the same model, but the battery got really bad, so we got her an M2 Air. Wanted to get her an M4 Pro, but the prices are crazy compared to when we got her last Pro.

I’ve got the same 2018 iPad Pro and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both are still running great after battery replacements, which I did myself.

@Noor
I gave my 12 Pro to a family member not too long ago. It’s still doing the job just fine.

Honestly, the M1 could probably last a decade with proper feature updates. Companies should provide security patches even when they stop updating features, and if not, they should allow the community to step in. Not that Apple ever would, though.

MacOS still runs great on the M1. I think the M1 iPad will hold up for years since new features are added so slowly.

I’ve got an M1 too, and since I don’t game on it, I feel like it’ll last forever.

I’m using an A12 iPad and got an M1, but the difference isn’t huge. If the A12 can last this long, the M1 should be fine for years.

I’m really looking forward to the SE. It’s perfect for people like my dad who find the more expensive iPhones intimidating.

Same here. If the price is around $500 as expected, it’ll make a great gift for my parents, who are still using iPhone 11s.

Feels like this forum just recycled rumours we’ve been hearing for ages without adding anything new.

I hope the updated keyboard can switch between devices easily.

A new keyboard? Looks like it’s time to invest in their stock.

I’m not expecting a new iPad Pro or Air this year. It feels too soon. Maybe we’ll see a basic model or a Mini instead.

Do you think the updated Magic Keyboard will work as a stand without needing the keyboard open?

You should try a case with a detachable keyboard. That worked really well for me.

Glad I saw this post before buying a new Magic Keyboard.
