Anyone else notice Apple rolled out Final Cut Camera 1.1? Needs iPhone 15 Pro or higher?

Key features:
1. Real-time multicam control: You can monitor and control up to four iPhone or iPad cameras at once.
2. Advanced camera settings for professionals.
3. Works great with Apple’s camera systems, either as a standalone app or integrated with Final Cut Pro.
4. Free to use, making high-end video tools more accessible.
5.

From what it says, you only need an iPhone 15 Pro if you’re recording to an external drive.

ProRes Log profile is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and later.

Dropping a comment so I can check this later when I’m less out of it.

We’re all out of it, always out of it.

True, sounds like my life… vodka helps.

Why not just save the post?

I never actually go back to saved posts… probably find this in 2025 like, ‘Oh yeah!’

Joining in… had three drinks on an empty stomach, my head’s killing me .

I wasn’t hammered, but I had two Moscow mules, each with 4 shots of vodka, and then finished my girlfriend’s because she tapped out halfway through hers. Mules are our go-to drink .

Got up late for work… thought today was Sunday. None of my alarms went off .

This app’s been around for months, but this update is solid. Now you can record in Log using HEVC/H.265, which means no more massive files. Blackmagic Camera and Kino already had this, so it’s cool to see Apple add it.

I’ve got a 14 Pro and the app works fine. I think it’s just for the ‘Pro’ models.

Check the update log for V1.1. Most features seem to need the 15 Pro or newer. Here’s the link: ‎Final Cut Camera on the App Store

@Adley
Weird, I’m on version 1.1. Maybe I’m missing one tiny feature, but it’s not a big deal for me.

The ProRes Log feature is actually a big deal and only works with the iPhone 15 Pro or later.

Works fine on my 13.

I’m using it on the regular iPhone 15.

You don’t need a 15 Pro unless you’re recording to an external drive. I’ve had this app on my 13 Pro for ages.

It doesn’t need a specific iPhone. You just need iOS 17.6 or newer.

Why don’t they just add these features to the main camera app instead of a separate one?
