Anyone else having trouble with the new iPhone 15? Straight out of the box?

I had to take mine back and get a new one. They almost didn’t let me return it because they said software issues aren’t covered by the warranty. That made no sense… I literally just bought it like an hour before and hadn’t even finished setting it up.

I was just going through the setup, doing Face ID and data transfer, but it was taking forever and heating up like crazy. So I tried restarting it, but then the screen started glitching, and I couldn’t even get into the phone. So yeah, I went back and swapped it.

Did you try using it without a case on?

Just to clear it up, I don’t have the phone anymore. I already took it back. And yeah, I did try it without the case. I was just putting it on and off while messing with the SIM and trying to keep it safe. That’s why it looks like it’s not on properly in the video.

@Mack
Maybe you should’ve checked if it was still overheating without the case. But I guess returning it was the right move anyway.

Did you even bother reading what they said?

@Jules
Oh shoot, missed that part. My bad.

So why’d you ask if they got another one? They literally said it right at the start.

Yeah, it was pretty clear from the first sentence. Maybe read the whole thing before commenting.

Alright, my mistake. I guess I just skimmed through.

@Rohan
Don’t blame it on dyslexia, dude… just admit you didn’t pay attention.

Why bother trying to fix it with a computer, though?

Yeah, I gave it a shot without the case too. Didn’t make any difference.

Had the same issue before. Putting it in DFU mode sorted it out for me.

Just take it to an Apple store. They’ll reinstall the latest iOS for you without charging anything. You can do it yourself too by connecting to a Mac or PC with iTunes. Press and release the volume up, then volume down, then hold the power button until the recovery screen shows up. Your computer will let you restore it. This is just an iOS 18 problem, not a hardware issue.

I work at Apple as a technical specialist, by the way.

@Ellis
Still… not really something you expect when you just unbox it.

@Ellis
Yeah, if it happens again, just hit up the Apple store. They’ll get it sorted.

Sounds like it’s just an iOS 18 bug. Updating it should help, but swapping it out was probably the safest bet.

It’s not really faulty. It’s just running an old version of iOS 18.2 with that annoying bug. A quick restore would’ve fixed it.

Well, the guy clearly didn’t know that.

I was literally about to type that, but you got there first.
