Accidentally Deleted a Text Photo—Is There Any Way to Recover It?

Hello folks…

I was doing some cleanup on my iPhone, specifically in Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Review Large Attachments, trying to free up some space by deleting old photos. Unfortunately, I wasn’t careful enough and accidentally deleted one of four very important photos sent to me by a family member who is no longer with us.

The worst part is, I hadn’t saved these photos to my Photos app; they were just in my Messages. Now, I can’t find a way to recover the deleted photo. It’s not in my recently deleted photos, and while I see options for recovering entire deleted text conversations, I don’t see anything for individual texts or photos.

Is there any way to get this photo back? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Since Samsung offers a Recycle Bin feature for the Gallery app, try it if it works for you. Here’s how to get back pictures that you may have recently deleted:

Launch the Gallery application.

(typically three lines on the bottom) Tap “Menu”

Search for “Trash” or “Recycle Bin” and press on it.

You ought to view recently removed pictures.

After choosing the pictures you want restored, select “Restore” or “Restore all.”
