12 Pro with 512GB or 13 with 128GB… Which one should I go for?

Hey folks, I’m thinking about getting a new phone since my 11 Pro is slowly dying on me after about 3 years. I’m stuck with Apple since I’ve got a Mac, and I’m planning to travel next year. The 512GB storage sounds really appealing, but I also want something reliable. I’m always running out of storage. Both of these are refurbished, so if anyone has advice on which one works better overall, I’d really appreciate it.

It’s a tough choice. I’d say the 12 Pro is a better phone overall, but it won’t be supported for as long as the 13.

True, remember how the 6s and 7 were phased out quickly. We won’t know for sure until Apple decides what to do with the 12 and 13 models.

@Mal
Yeah, that’s a good point.

Wait, is the 7 really dead already?

Yes, both the 6s and 7 stopped getting updates after iOS 15.

I didn’t know that, I still have one of those.

My bad, I misread your comment. Sorry about that .

No worries, it’s easy to get mixed up .

If storage is your main concern, go with the 12 Pro with 512GB. Personally, I’d choose the 13 Pro because of the smoother 120Hz display and the 3x zoom camera, but if that’s not in your budget, the 12 Pro should work fine, just make sure the battery health is still good.

The 12 Pro is definitely the better choice in the long run.

The 12 Pro is better in every way. Plus, the extra storage is useful.

12 Pro 512GB… that’s all you need.

Those prices are crazy. I got a 13 Pro Max with 128GB for £370.

I’m still using my 13 Pro Max, and it’s still going strong.

The 13 has better performance and battery life, but the 12 Pro has a more solid build.

I would still be using my blue 12 Pro if it hadn’t gotten wet. But I really liked that phone. If I had to choose, I’d go with the 12 just for the extra storage.

I’d go with the 13. The 12 has terrible cellular connection due to the old modem, which was their first 5G phone. Plus, you’ll get an extra year of software support with the 13’s updated processor. The cameras are better too, even without the telephoto. The 12 Pro doesn’t have 120Hz, so the display isn’t a factor either.

The 12 Pro was the first iPhone with 5G, but it had a lot of signal issues. I was happy to trade it in for a 14 Pro when I could.

What’s the source? Are these new phones, used, or refurbished? Makes a difference.
