Hi everyone, I just got my new phone and picked the black colour. I love how classy it looks, but I’m really worried about the colour wearing off or chipping. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m super careful with my stuff, but I’m second-guessing my choice now.
Would love to hear from others who’ve used the black one. Thanks a lot .

You could try using a clear case to keep it safe.

I already have a case, but I’m mostly worried about the colour around the camera part.

I use a Body Glove lens protector and their glass screen protector. It works well, and it doesn’t make the phone bulky.

It’s just a phone at the end of the day. As long as it’s in a case, you’ve done your best to protect it. Enjoy using it—you’ll probably replace it in a few years anyway.
Is this an issue with the regular iPhone 16? I thought it was only happening with the black Pro version.

I’m not sure, but I’m still worried about it happening.

Maybe visit the Apple Store and check the floor models to see if they show any signs of wear.
@Alexander
They only display the pink and blue models here, not the black or white ones.

I’ll be visiting tomorrow. I can check the black model for you and let you know.
@Alexander
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

Just checked. The black model looked fine, even though it’s a floor model that gets handled a lot.

Why not go for the white one instead?

What exactly do you mean by colour chipping? I have the black one too.
I’ve had my black iPhone 16 for two months, and I did notice a bit of chipping near the camera lens. I use a case with a raised lip, so it’s disappointing to see. Sorry, I know this isn’t what you wanted to hear.

Try getting a case that fully covers the camera area. I don’t have one, and I’ve noticed some chipping, but only if you look closely.

Does it affect the camera lens too?

Camera lens protectors aren’t really necessary and can make photos worse. But no chipping on the lens itself.
@Zion
What about the colour around it? Any issues there?

No, the raised lip on my case protects it really well.
