Why is the keyboard lagging so much on iOS 18?

It’s gotten really unbearable on an iPhone 12.

I have a 16PM and it still kind of feels laggy sometimes. I think that it also has something to do with the iOS.

iOS 18 has been so bad for this on my 13 Pro. It’s my biggest pet peeve.

Same phone, I’ve noticed it’s worse in some apps than others. I stopped using the Journal app because of it. Obsidian didn’t seem so bad.

Hey, if you find any fix please share it here.

Apple’s nice way of saying hey, buy a new phone, you poor.

Happens to me on iPhone 16 too.

Yeah, well, you didn’t have enough for the Pro, did you, you poor?

@Vance
Selling my kidney as we speak.

I’ve heard of the issue with the keyboard. Some believe it’s to push users into upgrading.

A small fine… The 36¢ was worth it! Apple is a trillion-dollar company, fines should be a % of their value.

Not really. They pay fines for this all the time.

@Vance
I guess the fines are nothing compared to their trillion-dollar market value.

Yeah, this is my last straw with iOS. I think it’s finally time for me to switch over to Android. This is not what iOS used to be, and it’s a shame.

Did you try a settings reset?

Try a hard restart and see if it’s any better.

Could you please tell me how to perform a hard reset? I tried restarting the phone multiple times but that didn’t help.

Volume up, volume down, then long press on the power button until you see the Apple logo (that’s for iPhone 14, but I think it’s the same).

@Toryn
Thank you! Will try and report back.

@Toryn
Just tried it. Unfortunately, it didn’t do anything to solve the problem.
