I got an iPhone 15 Pro two months ago, but the battery health has dropped from 94% to 88%. I didn’t use it before September 2023 because it’s a second-hand phone. I’m really worried about this. Is it normal?
Nah, your phone might give up on you soon. Better start looking for a backup.

Why are you laughing? Take this seriously and get the battery replaced. Maybe throw in a generator while you’re at it.
@Rin
Why should I take it seriously? Others are saying it’s fine and I shouldn’t worry.
Don’t stress over something that’s supposed to wear out over time. Just enjoy using your phone.

Thanks for the advice.
Just toss the phone in the toilet and move on.
I use a 15 Pro Max and did some quick calculations for you. Based on Apple’s claims, the battery should drop 1% for every 50 cycles, meaning it should reach 88% after about 600 cycles in ideal conditions. For regular use, it’s more like 1% every 37.5 cycles, so your drop seems to have happened about 95 cycles too early. That’s like losing 3 months of battery life.
It’s frustrating that a phone costing $800 or more doesn’t meet expectations. People defending this by saying ‘just replace the battery’ are ignoring the fact that these are premium devices. I’m dealing with the same problem, and it’s hard-earned money. We should speak up about these issues instead of normalising them.
@Aki
I know, right? Here’s my current situation: https://placehold.co/600x400.png
@Jesse
Yeah, it’s disappointing. Do you charge your phone in hot conditions or use an unofficial charger?

No, I use it normally—calls, messages, social media, and light games like Clash of Clans. I always charge it with Apple’s official 20W charger, but the battery still dropped quickly.
@Jesse
That’s tough. Are you planning to keep using it or switch to something else?

I’ll keep using it. It’s an expensive phone in my country—around $950. Let’s see how long it lasts.
@Jesse
Fair enough. Let us know if it gets worse.
@Bailey
Thanks for sharing. I usually charge my phone overnight, but I use a non-Apple wireless charger.
