Why did you remove your watch case ... People didn't like it?

I decided to take off the case from my watch because many people on this forum didn’t like it. I’m interested to know why they felt that way.

Don’t make changes for strangers on this forum. Do what makes you happy. But don’t do it just because I, a stranger here, said so.

Take this stranger’s advice, my friend!

@Ari
I’m not sure if following advice from strangers is the best approach.

Why? Why does it bother you guys so much that people want to protect their watch?

I use a case when I go out or go cycling. I take it off in relaxed situations.

In short: No one should care about using a case. People do, but they shouldn’t.

I have no problem if people want to put the bulkiest case on their devices. Watches and phones are expensive, and if people want extra protection, then more power to them. It might look better without the case, but many people don’t care about how it looks.

@Vale
I understand that $400 is a lot for some people.

What a snobby thing to say. People can budget and afford a purchase of $400 every three years. They can’t afford an unexpected $400 expense.

“People didn’t like my watch case.”

But we still see daily posts from people complaining that their AW got scratched :man_shrugging:

@Asher
Well, you do you. I take care of my stuff, but because of what I do daily, it’s more likely that I may accidentally damage my tech. Not everyone lives your life. An Apple Watch is tech; it’s not simply a watch. An aluminum Apple Watch is not as resistant to scratches, and the glass is more prone to breaking than the more expensive models, which don’t generally have this issue and therefore don’t need to be kept in a case.

Yeah, do what this person on the forum says.

Lol

Nice coordinating the watch face color with your outfit :clown_face:

Dude. Just do what you want?

The people on this forum don’t care what you do. Hell, even I don’t care what you do. Go and paint your watch with nail polish for all I care. Just be happy with your watch and so on.

If you want suggestions on how to improve the style, that’s another thing entirely.

@Tory
I refuse to be happy with my watch and move on just because you said so! /s (or rather, /d for dadjoke)

I used to have an Otterbox case that made the watch look very bulky. Ended up paying for AppleCare and using it as it is, much better.

AppleCare is the way…

I wear a case because I always end up scratching the screen. The scratches would bug me far more than other people’s opinions. I’m used to the case, so I don’t even see the case anymore. I love the freedom from not having to worry so much about damaging it, same goes for my phone case.

@Nate
Oh that is so scary to me
