I got through the waitlist pretty fast but have been stuck on Preparing for about 4-5 hours now

I updated to 18.1 and didn’t know this until now. It makes sense now

I was just about to mention that, it only works for devices set to US English right now. If your Apple account is registered in the EU or mainland China, you’re out of luck. A wider rollout is planned later this year, but it will still only cover different variants of English, with other languages coming next year
