Loving the Dynamic Island so far but wow… these cameras are massive.
I did the same upgrade last week… the size difference is wild.
Take off the camera protector. Adding plastic to sapphire glass doesn’t make sense.

I only thought about getting one because I didn’t know the lenses were sapphire. I assumed they were like the screen. They should make that clearer.

Since when have they been sapphire? My 13 Pro Max had a cracked lens, so I was thinking of getting a protector for my 16 Pro Max.

Scratches and cracks are two different things. Sapphire resists scratches because it’s so dense, but that also makes it brittle. Glass is softer, so it flexes more before breaking but scratches easier. I’m not even sure the lenses are pure sapphire… they might just have a sapphire layer on top to keep costs down. If they did the same for screens, maybe we wouldn’t need screen protectors anymore.

It doesn’t make much of a difference either way. Protect your camera if you want.
Went from an 11 to a 16 Pro two days ago… I feel the cameras every time I pick it up. The bigger screen still surprises me.

I made that switch in October… feels so top-heavy now.
Went from a 13 Pro to a 16 Pro (same colour as yours 
) and even then, I thought the 13 Pro had huge cameras. When I placed them side by side during the data transfer, I was like ‘Wait, they got even bigger??’ 
At the Apple Store, I noticed the sloped glass below the LiDAR scanner gets all scratched up from MagSafe chargers. They should’ve adjusted the magnet placement. Probably not as bad on the Pro Max since the camera is further from the center, but how much bigger can they even get?
The Dynamic Island is cool, but my 13 Pro’s battery was cooked, so this upgrade was long overdue.
That Damascus cover looks nice.
Better for taking pictures of monkeys.
The growing camera bump is why I’ve stuck with my 12 Pro longer than usual. Can’t lay it flat, Qi charging is annoying… I don’t get why more people don’t complain about it. Thinking about getting an SE 4 just to avoid it.

Upgraded last week too… not a huge difference overall, but the 5x zoom is crazy.
I switched from 12 Pro to 16 Pro and the cameras feel huge… but I love the 5x zoom.
Upgraded from the same generation. The 5x zoom is great, but everything else feels pretty similar.
